On February 22, KAIST held the 2013 Graduation Ceremony at 2 p.m. in the Lyu Keun-Chul Sports Complex. A total of 2,475 people received their degrees, including two honorary degrees to former Prime Minister Seung-soo Han and Chairman Lee Soo-young of KwangWon Industrial Company, 482 doctoral degrees, 1,153 master degrees, and 838 bachelor degrees.

On February 19, KAIST held the opening ceremonial for the finished IT Convergence Building, which started construction in May 2011. The IT Convergence Building will household facilities for information and technology research.The funding for the construction project was possible through the generous donation by Chairman Byung Ho Kim of Suhjeon Farm and his wife Kim Sam Yeol.
