With another fall semester well underway, the 2014 International Sports Festival also is just around the corner. Having become a much-anticipated event among the KAIST community, this year’s event is expected to continue its traditions of promoting a healthy and active college lifestyle. This year’s festival is scheduled to take place from November 7 - 9, with a total of seven sports events: athletics (fields and tracks), badminton, basketball, cricket, futsal, volleyball and table tennis offered in all male, female and mixed divisions. Unlike last year, tug-of-war will not be included in the competing category. Most events will be held indoors (inside the Sports Complex and the West Gymnasium), with the exception of futsal, crickets and athletic games, which will be located at the North futsal fields, the East Stadium and the West field, respectively. Students and faculty members of all KAIST departments are welcomed to register and participate. Application forms and detailed games schedule will be distributed through email or can be found on the KISA Facebook page and KAIST Portal System. With a growing number of foreign students from all over the world, organizers from KISA are expecting this year’s turnout to reach over 100.

Organized every year, with support from the ISSS Team, the annual International Sports Festival is about much more than just athletics competitions. It is an opportunity to not only meet old friends but also make new acquaintances. For students who are just coming to cheer, it is the perfect place to enjoy exciting live entertainment while supporting your friends or country representatives. Sports is always a great way to connect with the others.

So for you folk who have been dedicating your entire weekends to homework and lab reports, this event is for just you. Take a break from those books, come out of your dorm rooms and experience this 3-day event to the fullest!
