How can I improve my English? Isn’t there a place I can go to get some ideas and advice on developing my English ability? Well, you’re in luck because there is such a place, the Teaching English at KAIST (TEAK) podcast!

Last semester, in their first season of the TEAK podcast, Professors Tim Thompson and Donald Rikley focused on academic writing. In their weekly podcasts totaling ten episodes, they discussed and provided advice and great resources on all aspects of academic writing. The podcasts provided students with great ideas on improving their writing abilities, as well as providing professors with interesting insights on how to better help their students.

TEAK podcast is now well into its very exciting second season. This season, the focus has been on discussing and providing advice and ideas on academic speaking. In particular, each show has one feature focusing on developing your presentation skills and another section focusing on how drama can be used to develop speaking. Also, an “Off-campus Perspectives” segment brings the advice and expertise of educators from outside KAIST each week. As well, listeners will be happy to know that each week a great quote and helpful web resource will continue to be introduced.

To listen to the archives of previous episodes please go to www.kaistube.org and click on the TEAK podcast link. You can also subscribe to the TEAK podcast on iTunes and listen to a new episode every Wednesday during the semester. So, professors and students, now is the time to listen up, and join in on the discussion on how to develop your English abilities.
