The first award ceremony for those who completed KAIST’s S+ Convergence AMP program took place on February 25 at Fusion Hall located in the KI Building.

A total of 54 people received certificates of completion, including members of the National Assembly Jae-kyeong Kim and Jung-kwon Kim and other government officials. There also were approximately forty entrepreneurs and businessmen, as well as broadcaster Seok Kang and head of artistic talents for SBS, Jeong-taek Kim. The first prize went to KNI group president Ju-min Kim and Selim P&G CEO Young-gil Jin. Time Stamp Solutions CEO Dong-hyun Kim, Ridge P&C president Gi-ok Jang and nine others were awarded a second prize. The achievement award was given to Man-jang Ha for his contributions.

The S+ Convergence AMP program differentiates itself from other business management programs by providing education in convergence fields such as IT and industry, management and security and other future technologies, and helps nurture its participants to be able to put forward creative business strategies in a time of change and crisis.

Throughout the program, in addition to regular lectures, prominent individuals are invited to lecture once a month. Additionally, a range of activities such as demonstrations of KAIST’s On-Line Electric Vehicle (OLEV), workshops and opportunities to study abroad are offered. By doing so, the program manages to offer its participants great opportunities and helps foster an “international” point of view.

Participants are also taught how to use Twitter, Facebook and other social networking services, thus familiarizing them with these new online services of the 21st century. To ensure continued interest in social networking through the internet, they were given electronic albums rather than printed ones.

The goal of the KAIST S+ Convergence AMP program is to produce elite managers schooled in smart technology, convergence strategies, sustainable strategies, global competitiveness and cyber security.
