On September 12, for the very first time, the KAIST Alumni Association held the "KAIST Technology Fair" in the school's KAIST Institute (KI) building (E4). This technology fair was attended by a total of 17 organizations 14 alumni companies, the KAIST Technology Commercialization Center and 2 investment firms; they were welcomed to the workshop for active investment opportunities for startups. The event aimed to become a platform for maximizing synergy, cooperative development, creating ties between different generations of alumni, and employment opportunities for the alumni companies, which included MDS technology Co., Dawonsys Co., Miwon Commercial Co., Biospace Co., and Satreci Co..

These companies installed exhibition booths, which were open for the entire duration of the event, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., for product demonstration and company promotion. Part of the event was also allocated for the alumni companies to give presentations introducing themselves and potential collaboration opportunities, followed by a Q & A session. In fact, a consultation office was separately installed within the exhibition booths for more active interaction between the participants. The booth exhibition and the keynote session by the alumni companies were restricted to KAIST alumni, professors, staff and students but the regular sessions were open to the general public, meaning the press was allowed to attend these parts of the event as well.

The president of the KAIST alumni association, Man-Gi Paik said "KAIST is continuing to enhance its status, with many KAIST alumni assuming leader roles and demonstrating their great abilities both in and out of the country. Along with our proud alumni, we will keep on contributing to society as well as remaining a reliable partner to KAIST itself." In fact Biospace Co, one of the companies that participated in the event revealed that they were to donate 14 million Korean Won worth of medical equipment such as inbody dials and blood pressure monitors to KAIST, demonstrating their commitment to give back to their alma mater.
