From August 26 to 29, the KAIST's 28th Undergraduate Student Council, Blossom, offered its undergraduate and graduate students visits to companies and research centers. The program was organized in order to give students the opportunity to tour companies and research centers introduced in "My Way", the white paper on companies and research centers, published by Blossom.

Blossom recently launched the "Company and Research Center White Paper Publication and Visits Project", to provide its students information about various companies, by publishing the booklet "My Way". It also offers them to visit some of the companies upon online registration, held from July 28 to August 10.

A total of 220 students had registered online to visit 11 out of the 16 companies introduced in the booklet. However, only 142 students actually participated in the visits, as three companies had to cancel the tours. The eight participating companies were SK Innovation, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, LG Chem Research Park, Samsung Bioepis, LG CNS, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, and Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS).

Hyewon Shin, the Director of Bureau of the External Relations, emphasized the program's unique nature. "It was first planned in response to the limitations of our annual job fair. Students had difficulties gaining information other than that regarding the recruitment processes, such as corporate culture," Shin said. Also, the eight visiting companies provided KAIST tailored tour programs, unlike the typical visit programs offered by corporate Public Relations teams. The companies organized the meeting sessions with the KAIST alumni for students to gain the inside perspectives.

According to Shin, it is not yet decided whether the student council will continue this project. "As this is our first time planning and organizing such a program, we have to review feedbacks from the participants to decide if we need to continue the project."
