In a generous gesture, CEO Inwoo Hyung, an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) graduate of the KAIST College of Business, donated 1 billion KRW to the university’s development fund on November 3. The contribution aims to address the aging infrastructure of the College of Business, with plans to enhance facilities using the donated funds.

CEO Hyung held key positions at Samsung SDS, Hangame, and Naver. He has also served as a director of Kakao and  CEO of K-Cube Holdings. Since 2011, he founded and runs Smart & Growth, a management consulting firm. 

CEO Hyung shared his motivation for donating during a ceremony held at the Seokwrim Hall on the Seoul campus. The event was attended by his spouse, Hye-yoon Yeom, President Kwang Hyung Lee, Dean Yeosun Yoon of the College of Business, Dean Sukjoon Byun of the Graduate School of Finance, and Vice Dean Wonseok Oh of the School of Management Engineering.

Reflecting on his time at KAIST, CEO Hyung emphasized the importance of education and learning in the progress and prosperity of humanity, expressing gratitude for the valuable lessons and support he received at the KAIST College of Business. He stated that he always wanted to convey his appreciation and is delighted to contribute to creating opportunities for current and future students.

President Lee extended sincere thanks to CEO Hyung for his affection toward the university and support for the dreams of fellow alumni and current students. He believes this donation will serve as an inspiration not only for those currently engaged in research and academics but also for many other alumni.
