Professor Chulhee Choi of the Department of Bio and Brain Engineering has been appointed as a member of the editorial board of the medical journal Cancer Letters as of July 25.

As a member of the editorial board, Professor Choi will review papers submitted for publishing in the journal, as well as lend his expertise towards shaping the future plans for the publication. Professor Choi was awarded the position in acknowledgement of his numerous research achievements in his field, which include the publishing of over twenty SCI level papers as the main author.

Professor Choi, who currently heads the Cell Signaling and Bio Imaging Laboratory and Optical Bioimaging Center, takes on a multifaceted approach to his research, utilizing cellular and molecular biology, computational biology and bio imaging in uncovering the causes of diseases such as cancer. One of Professor Choi’s more recent achievements includes a new method of delivering drugs using high-frequency lasers.

Cancer Letters, established in 1975, is a peer-reviewed medical journal which focuses on the rapid publication of research in the fields of basic and translational oncology, placing emphasis on experimental therapies, particularly targeted therapies for personalized cancer medicine.
