On May 14, the World Food Festival organized by KAIST International Students Association (KISA) was held in front of the Main Library (E11). The event is held annually to promote and share the diverse culture of the international society in KAIST, but this year it was more meaningful in that it was organized as a donation drive to support the pro-democracy movement in Myanmar. The International Scholar and Student Services (ISSS) helped hold the event, funding the participating teams up to 340,000 KRW. At least 40 percent of each team’s revenue is expected to be donated to Myanmar.

KAIST members were invited to explore various dishes and desserts from diverse cultures, including Indonesian, Vietnamese, Mexican, and Italian cuisine. The event was carried out under strict COVID-19 distancing measures, and only takeout was allowed. A total of 2,003,700 KRW was donated from the event.
