The KAIST Art and Music Festival (KAMF) 2023 was held at the Academic Cultural Complex (ACC) lawn on September 1 and 2. With the concept “KAMF: [ ]”, the KAMF organizing committee wanted the students themselves to provide meaning to the event.

The success of this year’s KAMF could be seen from its scale and numbers. A total of 18 student booths — including food options such as waffles and bingsu — and three guest booths — henna, caricature, and face painting booths — entertained the students from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. During the same time, the open stage was held where there were diverse performances from the students, ranging from jazz and acoustic to rock. Booths and performances combined, more than 150 students participated to invigorate the festival.

From 7:30 p.m., celebrities including Kwon Jin Ah, Paul Kim, YB, and Car, the garden graced the main stage with their performances. A total of 10 celebrity performances were held during the two days.

It is estimated that more than 10,000 and 5,000 students enjoyed the first and second day of the festival, respectively. The organizing committee also prepared prizes for students with high participation as well as a KAMF-themed photo booth on the first floor of the Creative Learning Building (E11).

“It was an honor to be able to organize a festival where students can enjoy diverse booths, foods, and performances in the cool autumn breeze and I would like to thank all the committee members for their hard work,” said Jeongheum Choi, leader of the committee.

KAMF has been held every September since 2012, except in 2019 and 2020 due to COVID-19. It is mainly composed of various booths and performances of students and indie bands. It was recommenced last year, which gathered an estimated 10,000 participants.
