The Android application “KAIST Shuttle” is now available to the KAIST community. Through this app, the students can look up the KAIST shuttle timetables for the main, ICC, and Hwa-am campus.

This app was created by a KAIST graduate, under the alias name of “EpicDev.” The original motivation for its development was the creator’s need for an easy and efficient method for checking the shuttle timetables. Consequently, the application was initially developed for his own personal use. However, after sufficient updates, it was officially released to the public. Currently, the application is available both in Korean and in English, and the total number of downloads exceeds a thousand.

The main function of KAIST Shuttle is to first and foremost simply provide the timetables for the shuttles. However, there are several more helpful options available as well. One can use the vibration alarm system, which alerts the user at a time prior to the arrival of the expected shuttle. In addition, there is also a widget function that can be activated if desired. With the widgets, one can easily find out about the times of the closest shuttles straight from the phone’s home screen without having to separately open the application.

The developer has stated that the application will be under constant maintenance and updated in the future. However, the application will not be able to provide for the sudden changes in shuttle schedules.

For those who are interested in getting the app, search “KAIST shuttle” on Google Play, or directly access it via https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.epicdevs.kaistshuttle.
