Back in 2011, a series of lectures were given to the public by three distinguished professors from KAIST. The theme was “Future Information Technology,” and only a handful of attendees had the chance to experience these excellent lectures. Now, the lectures have been put together into a book for all those who are interested in the topic.

The KAIST Press and ScienceBooks have published the first book on the KAIST Great Lectures series, titled The Almighty Google Knows Everything. The book aims to let the public experience the great lectures of KAIST and learn about future technology trends as well as what people expect from science and what science expects from the people in return.

The three professors who gave the lectures are Professor Hawoong Jeong and Emeritus Professor Hai Woong Lee from the Department of Physics, and Professor Jaeseung Jeong from the Department of Bio and Brain Engineering.

The first series with the theme “Future Information Technology” was given from October to December of 2011. The second series with the theme “The Brain” took place in December of 2012. The theme for the third series is currently being planned. Publication for the first of the KAIST Great Lecture series has been completed and is now available for purchase, and the second is scheduled for publication in 2013. Also, arrangements have been made with Springer, a global publishing company that publishes books and journals in science, technical, and medical publishing, to publish the books internationally.

In the preface, Professor Hawoong Jung wrote that the KAIST Great Lecture series is a bold plan to share the excellent lectures with the public. The KAIST Press expects that the KAIST Great Lecture series will improve the status of the institute and will contribute to the spreading of science and technology to the people, ultimately developing superiority and a global competitive edge in the field to serve as groundwork for future Nobel Prizes.
