On May 30, the International Organizations Recruitment Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the Sixth Annual Information Fair for Career Opportunities in the United Nations (UN) System in Terman Hall of the Creative Learning Building (E11). The information fair was targeted towards undergraduate and graduate students as well as the general public. The event was organized in order to share information on primary responsibilities, labor status, and current recruitment trends of various international organizations.

The information fair continued for approximately four hours, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. After the congratulatory address, the first information session regarding current labor and recruitment statuses of UN organizations and policies was organized. This was then followed by a mock interview session. After a brief 10-minute break, the fair had a question-and-answer session and wrapped up with a closing address. Copies of The Guidebook for Career Opportunities in International Organizations, which composed of the brief summary of the location, main functions, and the recruitment information of various international organizations, were provided to the audiences during the information fair.

The information fair was helpful for those interested in working at international organizations in the future, especially since the recruiting managers of international organizations, such as the UN Secretariat, the UN Population Fund, and the International Atomic Energy Agency, participated in the event. Also, the the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) provided the opportunity of mock recruitment interviews by lottery for some applicants.

The Sixth Annual Information Fair for Career Opportunities in the UN System was held at four different universities. Other than KAIST, Chung-Ang University, Sogang University, and Jeonju University held their information fairs on May 27, 28, and 29, respectively. The registration for participation of the event was received via the official website of MOFA’s International Organizations Recruitment Center.
