KAIST Center for Science-based Entrepreneurship (CSE) is looking for students who are interested in participating in a task force team (TFT) of a startup company in the United States (US). The position is open to all KAIST students (undergraduate/graduate, alumni, and students on leave of absence) who possess passion for challenge and talent, as well as good communication skills in English. The company is planning on recruiting about 100 students, and application fields that are open include computer vision, human behavior modeling, web-based social networking, interactive video streaming, and development of mobile applications in iOS and Android.
Students who have been selected will work with experts in small teams during the semester by using Skype or email. During summer vacation, they will be given an opportunity to visit the company in the US. Promising students will be given extra pay and stock options. The duration of the work is one year, but it can be adjusted flexibly according to the student.
Through this project, students will participate in further developing and materializing ideas. In other words, this project is not for students who already have an idea they wish to develop. However, if they successfully complete the project, CSE will consider offering programs that will help the students develop their own ideas in the future. CSE will evaluate this year’s project to determine the continuation of the program in the upcoming years.
To apply for the TFT, students have to complete the application form (uploaded on KAIST Portal System) and email it along with an English version of their curriculum vitae (more commonly known as CV) to researcher Jung-Woo Lee (jungwoolee@kaist.ac.kr) by 11:59 p.m. on March 27. Company personnel will interview applicants who pass the first screening on April 7, the opening day of Startup KAIST. Students who have questions regarding the project can refer to the CSE homepage (http://eship.kaist.ac.kr) or contact Lee via email for more information.
